We cannot thank you enough for making The Big Summer Lottery such a huge success.

Over 8,400 tickets were sold, meaning over £250,000 has been raised, with all the proceeds going to Hope for a Child and 5 other local charities.

We are all overwhelmed by the support and generosity of our Guernsey community, causing this event to have huge lasting impact – helping some of the most disadvantaged children on the planet, and in Guernsey, to stand on their own feet.

‘Really? Is someone having a laugh? Is Jeremy Beadle gonna jump out at me? Those were my initial thoughts. Followed by OMG, this could be real.

When I originally bought the ticket, many months ago, I pretty much considered it as a donation to a great cause and never really expected to win anything. So I was shocked and very happily surprised by Tom’s call on Friday night.

I’ve no idea what I’m going to spend it on. It hasn’t really sunk in yet. Thank you and well done on your fund raising efforts.’

THE CAUSES

The Big Summer Lottery is run by Hope for a Child to fund our projects in Malawi, where we are seeing thousands of families overcome difficult circumstances and thrive. Guernsey is geographically small, but the impact that we have on the world is anything but.
