We first met Rachel in 2013, when she joined a Hope for a Child savings and loan association. She was using loans to expand her tomato production business.

We asked her at the time what her dreams were for the future, and she said her great hope was that one of her children would be educated to university level. Rachel received very little education as a child, and said she wasn’t prepared to let the same happen to her children. We caught up with her again recently, and it was with a lot of joy that she told us her eldest son had got a place at university, which he started in September.
