Office Administrator position available

Hope for a Child is seeking a part time Office Administrator to be responsible for managing the smooth day-to-day operations of our office and providing efficient administrative support to our team.

We are a Guernsey-based charity, existing to enable children living in extreme poverty in Malawi, to thrive. We are a small and dedicated team, running local fundraising initiatives such as The Big Summer Lottery, and The £5 Lottery Club.

The successful candidate will have an interest in helping to create change for people living in poverty, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational skills, a good attention to detail and a high level of numeracy.

The role will involve a high level of interaction with our supporters in Guernsey via email and telephone. Other tasks include payment reconciliations, incoming and outgoing post, arranging travel, and maintaining office supplies.

14-20 hours per week, negotiable.

Internship Positions Available

If so, an internship at Hope for a Child could be just what you’re after.

Each year we take on up to 3 interns, who join a our busy, friendly team to get involved in a whole range of areas, such as:

  • Customer Service
  • Office Administration
  • Book Keeping
  • Sales
  • PR & Marketing
  • Charity Fundraising
  • International Development

Our interns are expected to have a go at a broad range of tasks, but we also help them to identify their strengths and passions and help them focus on those areas.

Our internships are unpaid positions. They are for a duration of 9-12 months. Hours are negotiable, however a commitment of at least 1 day a week is required.

Interns may be given the opportunity to join one of our team trips to our project sites in Malawi.
