Country information:
Uganda is a beautiful and fertile country in east Africa. It suffered greatly under the dictator Idi Armin and the civil war that followed. Since 1986 , it has known relative stability, with rebel groups only remaining active in the north.
Most of the population live in rural areas growing their own staple foods of maize, cassava and matoke. The country has a very high rate of HIV/AIDS but has managed to reduce infection rates through health education.
