News of Iganga Farmers Groups:
Tusubira VSLA

Tusubira VSLA decided to use the money they had saved to carry out group projects. The group was able to raise a total of £445 as cumulative savings. They were concerned about the number of children in their community who were dying of malaria. The group decided to use their savings to buy mosquito nets for their children in order to protect them from mosquito bites.
The group also provided school materials such as books and pencils for their children.

Since being part of a VSLA group Benerd has managed to purchase a large piece of land, and he is now in the process of building a permanent latrine. VSLA has enabled 8 of his 12 children to go to school and he has bought mosquito nets for all of his children.
