The Team
Hope for a Child is a charity based in Guernsey and UK. Our current projects support orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda, South Africa and Lesotho, with the aim of replicating what we do in other countries. We are staffed by a talented and committed team mostly made up of volunteers, enabling us to expand our operations while keeping our overheads as low as possible.

Hope for a Child was set up by in 2007 by Roy Herring and his wife Sue after they were inspired by visits to an orphanage in China. These life-changing experiences made them realise that children were better off being cared for within their own extended families and communities if at all possible and they then decided that Africa, because of the huge scale of the crisis occasioned by HIV/AIDS, would be the best place for the new charity to start work.

Hope for a Child is a charity registered in England and Wales No: 1128571 and in Guernsey No: 47128.
