| | Abandoned '08 collected up nearly 200 people in the Vale Castle to
sleep under the stars in aid of Hope for a Child projects.
A HUGE thank-you to all the wonderful people who decided to swap their cosy, snuggly beds for a cardboard box helping to raise the incredible total of £10,500!
Although tired, crusty and a bit damp, we had an amazing time snoozing under the stars; and were
so impressed and thankful for everyone's effort and support. It
means we can now continue with some major projects; which means more broken lives will begin to see hope.
The standard of creativity, innovation and inventiveness was stunning as sleepers turned up carrying boxes transformed into pirate ships, ipods, space ships, almost full-scale houses, animals, as well as the more traditional cardboard box look. We will be at the same place this year, provisionally on Friday 21st August 2009. It will all be bigger and better, including bigger and better box competitions.
